ABSTRACT
Screening of some wild Vigna radiata germplasm namely Sub2, Sub9, Sub2/7/2, Sub2/3/4, setulosa and Sub14, and four popular cultivars of greengram namely B1, NP28, PS16 and Kopergaon against Callosobruchus chinensis (L.) was done by feeding assay in laboratory conditions. Resistance to bruchids was identified in a wild greengram Vigna radiata var. sublobata namely Sub2. All the cultivars showed susceptibility against bruchid. Hence, Sub2 could be utilised for the development of bruchid resistant segregating lines.
