The extent of genetic variability, heritability, and genetic advance for 24 biometric characters in 30 diverse genotypes of yard long bean was studied. Genetic analysis revealed existence of considerable genetic variability among the genotypes. PCV and GCV were highest for pod yield per plant. High heritability coupled with high genetic advance was observed for pod yield per plant, pods per kg, inflorescence per plant, pod weight and keeping quality of pods indicating scope of selection for improvement of these characters. The genotypes, VS 15, VS 21, VS 14, VS 20, VS 13 and VS 19 superior for pod yield and its components can be used in further breeding programmes.
