Heterosis studies for grain yield and its component characters in 15 F1 hybrids derived from 6×6 diallel indicated an appreciate amount of heterosis for almost all the characters. Significant positive heterotic effect overmid parent and better parent was observed for grain yield/plant in the hybrids RBL-10 × CXM-8-p2 followed by CXM-12-P2 and RBL- 10 × Rb-40. The heterosis for grain yield appeared due to heterosis for number of pods/plant, number of cluster/plant and number of seeds/pod.
