STABILITY ANALYSIS FOR YIELD AND YIELD CONTRIBUTING TRAITS IN BLACK GRAM (VIGNA MUNGO (L.) HEPPER) UNDER PROTECTIVE IRRIGATION
1College of Agriculture, University of Agricultural Sciences,
Dharwad, Bheemarayanagudi-585 287, India
ABSTRACT
Blalckgram genotypes were evaluated with respect to seed yield and its component traits,
during kharif 2004, 2005 and 2006. Significant G x E interaction was observed for seed yield, days
to 50% flowering, number of pods / plant, pod length and 100 seed weight. Linear component of Gx E was non-significant for all the traits. The stability analysis based on regression co-efficient,
mean and S2di revealed that the genotype, BDU 3-20 was stable for seed yield and number of seeds per pod under protective irrigation.
