INTEGRATED USE OF SULPHUR AND MOLYBDENUM ON GROWTH, YIELD AND QUALITY OF BLACK GRAM (VIGNA MUNGO L)
1Department of Soil Science and Agricultural Chemistry,
Udai Pratap Autonomous College, Varanasi-221 002, India
ABSTRACT
The field experiment was carried out in randomized block design with six treatments including
control and three replications. T-9 was used as test variety of black gram. Application of S, Mo and
Rhizobium (in the form of seed inoculation) alone or in combination significantly increased the
vegetative growth, nodule number, grain and straw yield as compared to control. Maximum growth
and yield were recorded when S was applied at 20 kg ha-1 with Rhizobium inoculation plus Mo @ 2
kg ha-1. S and Mo content and uptake in straw was significantly affected by the T3 T4 and T5. Protein content was also increased due to application of S, Mo and Rhizobium
