1Seed Technology Research Unit (NSP),
M.P.K.V.,Rahuri- 413722, India.
ABSTRACT
The seeds of soybean cultivars viz., MACS-450, JS-335, MACS-572, MACS-13,MAUS-2,MACS-
413 and MACS-158 were sown in experimental field during kharif 2006 and 2007. The observations
of infection of SMV on seedlings, plant height, number of nodules/ plant, 100 seed weight, seed
germination and seedling vigour index were recorded. The results revealed that there was significant
reduction in plant height, number of nodules / plant, 100 seed weight, seed germination (%) and
seedling vigour index in virus infected plants of soybean varieties as compared to control
