ABSTRACT
Experiment was conducted during 1995–96 to investigate the influence of environment factors on disease development. Twenty five days old tomato seedlings were planted from 16 th July 1995 to 21 th October 1996 at a fortnight interval and plants were inoculated with the bacterial suspension. The results revealed that the maximum per cent disease incidence (58%) was noticed on the seedings planted on second fortnight of October 1995 which is positively favoured by the temperature (19.55–28.25°C) and relative humidity (95%). There was significant positive correlation between disease severity and relative humidity I (r=0.6334) and non significant correlation with minimum temperature (r = −0.1526). However, no disease incidence was recorded during summer months indicating negative correlation of temperature (32–35°C) and relative humidity.
