ABSTRACT
Contact toxicity of 9 insecticides were evaluated against grubs and adults of Coccinella septempunctata and adults of Indian honey bee Apis cerana indica. Cyperrnethrin was found to be the most toxic to grubs and adults of the predator followed by dirnethoate in comparison to endosulfan. Ethofenprox, malathion and imidacloprid existed in moderate group of toxicity to grubs and beetles, whereas, acephate, cartap hydrochloride and neem extract as less toxic Cypermethrin was observed most toxic, dirnethoate, imidacloprid arx.: acephate as moderately toxic and cartap hydrochloride, malathion, neem extract and ethofenprox as less toxic to bee adults as against standard endosulfan. The order of toxicity to grubs: Cypermethrin > dirnethoate > ethofenprox > malathion > imidacloprid > acephate > cartap hydrochloride > endosulfan > neem extract and adult of predator: Cyperrnethrin > dimethoate > imidacloprid > ethofenprox > malathion> acephate > cartap hydrochloride> endosulfan > neem extract and honey bee: Cypermethrin > dimethoate > imidacloprid > acephate > cartap hydrochloride > malathion > neem extract> ethofenprox > endosulfan was found.
