ROOT REGENERATION OF DAHLIA INVARIABILIS USING BIOINOCULANTS
1Department of Microbiology, College of Basic Sciences and Humanities,
CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar - 125 004, India
ABSTRACT
Root regeneration in stem cuttings of Dahtia invariabilis were tested by dipping them in microbial
culture broths of 12 different strains and then transferred to Bryan agar tubes. All the strains
performed better with respect to root regeneration and plant growth parameters over uninoculated
control. Maximum root regeneration and plant biomass was observed with Azolobacter chroococcwn strain MSX 9. Maximum root regeneration and plant biomass were found with six amino acids out of twenty amino acids tested. Two amino acids were detected in A. chroococcum strains MSX 9 and 103 and one in strains Mac 27, Mac 68 and Ala 27 using thin layer chromatography (TLC).
