EFFECT OF NAA ON ROOTING OF CUTTINGS OF SCENTED GERANIUM {PELARGONIUM GRAVEOLENS (L.) HERIT.} IN DIFFERENT MONTHS*
1Department of Horticulture,
College of Agriculture, Rajendranagar, Hyderabad - 500 030, India
ABSTRACT
To study the efficacy of NAA and also to find out the best month for rooting of geranium cuttings
to obtain maximum success, an experiment was conducted in randomized block design with factorial
concept, during August 2002 to January 2003. The month of December was found most suitable for
formation of root initials and survival of cuttings followed by November. Among the NAA concentrations,
all the concentrations differed significantly from control but the effect of 1500 ppm, 2000 ppm and 2500
ppm was almost same. Hence for the better survival of geranium cuttings must be planted in November-
December with 1500/2000 ppm concentrations of NAA.
