A field experiment was conducted from 1999 to 2001 to study the productivity,
profitability, resource use efficiency and sustainability of rice as influenced by poultry
manure and NPK levels. The data indicated that poultry manure was superior over
farm yard manure. Application of poultry manure @ 1 t/ha and 100% NPK (150:75:75
kg/ha) was found to be optimum. Sustainability in productivity increased with the
application of organic manures while decreased with the increase in the inorganic
fertilizers.
