EVALUATION OF SOYBEAN GENOTYPES.AGAINST PHAKOPSORA PACHYRHIZI THE INCITENTOF RUST

ABSTRACT
Soybean rust incited by Phakopsora pachyrhizi Syd is one of the most sedous
disease inflicting accountable quantitative as well as qualitative losses. A total of
239 genotypes of soybean were evaluated under natural epiphytotics (in vivo)Result
showed that all the genotypes screened ,exhibited varied degree of reactions against
P. pachyrhizi. Of the. 239 soybean genotypes , only one (EC-438252) was found
immune, 21 as resistant, 89 as moderately resista»t, 93 as susceptible and 35.as
higbly susceptible to rust
