CORRELATION AND PATH ANALYSIS OF YIELD AND YIELD COMPONENTS IN HYBRID RICE (Oryza sativa L.)
1Acharya N.G. Ranga Agricultural University,
Kampassagar, Nalgonda-508 207, India
ABSTRACT
Present investigation was carried out with 68 hybrids, 21 parents and 4 checks to study the association among yield components, their direct and indirect influence on grain yield. The characters plant viz. height, panicle length, productive tillers per plant, productivity per day and filled grains per panicle exhibited significant positive association with grain yield per plant, direct positive effect and indirect association themselves at both genotypic and phenotypic levels. Thus simultaneous selection for these characters helps in selection of superior cross combinations hybrid rice.
