Twenty hybrids along with three checks were evaluated during Tllbi. 1998. Among 20
hybrids tested, 7-1 A X HIlA 265-1 exhibited significa!'~ "eterosis over best check for plant
height. Four hybrids viz., 7·1 A XHIlA 265,852 A XkHA ~ti5-1, 7-1 A X6D-l and 7-1 A Xm
20 recorded significant heterosis for seed yield over KBSH I, the highest yielding check there
by suggesting the exploitation of heterosis in these hybrids through cytoplasmic male sterility
and technology of large scale seed production.
