LOCATION OF GENES FOR EARSHAPE USING MONOSOMIC ANALYSIS IN WHEAT (TRITICUMAESTJVUM L.')
1Departmentof Genetics and Plant Breeding
University of Agricultural Sciences, Dharwad-580 005, India
ABSTRACT
Crosses between Kalyansona monosomic series and DWR 39 were made to locate
genes governing eushape. This analysis indicated that the shape of the ear is controlled by
three m~or additive gene. and some modifying genes along with the locus which is present
on chromosome 5A. The three ~or genes were found to be present on chromosome lA, 7A
and 60 while modifying genes were found to be present on chromosome 3A, 58 and 3D
