The direct and indirect effects of different quantitative traits on grain yield
was studied In 90 hybrids that resulted from ten parents crossed In lOx 10
dlallel fashion. Number of grains per row exerted maximum direct effect on grain
yield. Hence the selection for number of grains per row will be highly effective
for improvement of grain yield.
