ABSTRACT
Among the yield components, the Spike/m row length was found to be the most highly correlated component with the grain yield followed by number of grains/spike and spike length during both years. The regression of yield on yield attributes under the influence of sowing dates indicated that the number of grains/spike was the most important attribute followed by spike length and test weight. Both varieties and nitrogen levels depicted that the spike/m row length was the most important factor in affecting the grain yield followed by spike length and number of grains/spike and spikelets/spike, number of grain/spike and test weight respectively. The multiple regression analysis showed that aU the attributes affected the grain yield (kg/ha) significantly and 99 per cent of variation in grain yield was being explained by the yield attributes jointly during both years
