ABSTRACT
Different high volume sprayers such as hand compression, knapsack, Hi-tech and akela sprayers with single and double duromlst nozzles at 30 and 40 PSI pressure were tested with monocrotophos 36 WSC against lepidopteran pests of tobacco during 1998–99. Hi-tech sprayer was significantly superior in recording the highest reduction of S. litura and H. armigera followed by Knapsack, hand compression and akela sprayers. Hi-tech sprayers with double nozzle at 40 PSI reduced the pest load to an extent of 93.86 per cent of S. lituraand 74.65 per cent of H. armigera over untreated check.
