ABSTRACT
The performance of no-till seed fertilizer drill was evaluated in manually harvested paddy field during the year 1998–99. The highest germination count was observed in stubble height of 20–30 cm. Similar trends were observed in case of tillering count. The maximum grain yield and straw yield were noticed in 30–40 cm stubble height and lowest in 40–50 cm stubble height. The weed growth was highest in 40–50 cm stubble height. The effect of depth of sowing was found non-significant while effect of stubble height and seed coverage was found significant on all crop parameters. The operating cost of the no-till seed fertilizer drill was calculated as Rs. 240. 75/ha with an average field capacity of 0.56 ha/hr.
