Field experiment was undertaken during winter season of 1997–98 to evaluate the effect of IAA (0, 1000 and 2000 ppm), GA 3 (0, 1000 and 2000 ppm) and STS (0, 500 and 1000 ppm) on growth and flowering of aster, Out of nine treatments, IAA applied at 2000 ppm gave the maximum vegetative growth and produced the best quality blooms followed by GA 3 2000 ppm, The flowering was noted to delay with each increase in the concentration of IAA, GA 3 and STS but the maximum delay in flowering was recorded with IAA 2000 ppm. However, the earliar flowering was observed under control during both the years.
