1Sorghum Research Unit,
Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola 444104, India
ABSTRACT
A field experiment was conducted during rabi season of 1999–2000 on loamy sand soil of Jobner (Rajasthan) to find out response of mustard varieties to different levels of sulphur in loamy sand soil. Results showed that variety Bio-902 proved significantly superior over RH-8812 and CS-52 with respect to all growth parameters but at par with PCR-7. The yield attribute, seed and stover yields were significantly higher in variety Bio-902 over rest of the varieties. The test weight of Bio-902 was at par with PCR-7 but significantly higher over RH-8812 and CS-52. Application of 90 kg S ha−1 significantly enhanced all growth parameters yield attributes, seed and stover yield over their preceding levels except test weight. The test weight increased significantly only upto 60 kg S ha−1.
