Genetics of quality characters like kernel length, length/breadth ratio, alkali spreading value, water uptake, cooked kernel length, elongation ratio, volume expansion, protein content and amylose content were studied in three crosses. In all the three crosses additive, dominance and epistatic interaction of additive × additive, dominance × dominance and duplicate type of epistasis were found for most of the characters. Pedigree method of breeding followed by selection in later generation involving one or two cycle of intermating of selected segregants is suggested for improvement
