Field experiment was carried out to utilize the agro-industrial wastes such as pressmud and lignite flyash in maize based cropping system during February 2006. The study revealed that application of pressmud @ 12.5t ha–1 with lignite flyash @ 5t ha–1 proved to be superior in growth, yield and yield attributes of maize by recording the grain yield of 4104.20kg ha–1. This treatment gave good response when maize was intercropped with cowpea/blackgram, by registering the grain yield of 4563.35kg ha–1
