BIO-EFFICACY OF MYCOINSECTICIDES AGAINST THRIPS TABACI LINDEMAN ON GARLIC
1Department of Agricultural Entomology,
Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh-362001, India.
ABSTRACT
A laboratory experiment was conducted to determine the efficacy of three mycoinsecticides
alone and in combination with two chemical insecticides against Thrips tabaci Lindeman infesting
garlic at Junagadh Agricultural University campus, Junagadh during rabi season of 2008-09. The
results revealed that spinosad @ 0.0045 per cent combined with endosulfan @ 0.035 per cent
recorded the highest mortality, whereas and endosulfan @ 0.007 per cent and spinosad @ 0.009
per cent were the next best treatments. Effect of three fungal biopesticides, Beauveria bassiana,
Verticillium lecanii and Paecilomyces fumosoroseus increased gradually with advancement in
time and among them V. lecanii @ 2.0 kg/ha gave highest mortality of the garlic thrips.
