LOSS ESTIMATION IN CORIANDER DUE TO SUCKING PESTS AND SCRENING OF CORIANDER GENOTYPES AGAINST JASSIDS
1Department of Entomology, College of Agriculture,
Junagadh Agricultural University, Junagadh- 362 001, India
ABSTRACT
The results on estimation of yield losses in coriander due to sucking pests revealed that significantly
higher yield of 935.91 kg/ha was recorded from protected plots, while the yield of 530.85 kg/ha was
recorded from unprotected plots. The results clearly indicated that the yield can be increased by
providing protection with the effective insecticides (methyl-o-dematon 0.03% and endosulfan 0.07%)
against the sucking pests infesting coriander. The yield increased in protected plots over unprotected
plots was 405.06 kg/ha and the avoidable yield loss was 43.28 per cent. In another trial on the
screening of twenty genotypes of coriander against jassid, Empoasca kerri Pruthi, the results revealed
that the genotype Dhana-98 was found the least susceptible and it was statistically at par with genotypes
