EVALUATION OF IMIDACLOPRID 200SL(CONFIDOR 200SL )FOR ITS EFFICACY AGAINST GRAPE THRIPS SCIRTOTHRIPS DORSALIS(HOOD) AND PHYTOTOXICITY
1Department of Agricultural Entomology
College of Agriculture, UAS campus, Bijapur- 586 101, India
ABSTRACT
Studies were conducted on the management of thrips in grape with nine treatments comprised of
four doses of confidor 200%SL( 0.3, 0.4, 0.8 and 1.6ml/ lit)) , Acetamaprid 20% SP @
0.3gm,Thiamethoxam 25%WG @ 0.3 gm, Dimethoate 30EC (standard check) @ 1.7 ml/lit , water
spray and control in randomized block design replicated 4 times with six vines per treatment at two
locations in Bijapur , Karnataka. All the four concentrations of Imidacloprid 200%SL were found at
par with each other in reducing the thrips population at 1, 3 and 7 days after spraying and were at
par with other two neonicotinoid molecules. All the three neonicotinoid molecules were significantly
superior over standard check. Water spray was found significantly inferior to all the treatments and
was on par with control. None of the concentrations of Imidacloprid 200% SL were found to cause
phytotoxicity symptoms on grape vine.
