PHYSIOLOGICAL AND HAEMATOLOGICAL VALUES OF KATHIAWARI FOALS DURING POSTNATAL DEVE~OPMENT

ABSTRACT
Physiological and haematological studies were· conducted on four Kathiawari neonatal foals
immediately after birth till 12 weeks of age. Haemoglobin, packed cell volume and total ~rythrocytic count decreased signifying physiological anaemia. Respiration and pulse rate also decreased to reach .' nearly adult values. Total leucocytic count increased during 'first week and then decreased. N~utrophil percentage decreased whereas lymphocyte increased signi~cantly dUringthe period of study.
