EFFECT OF METHOD OF BODY COOLING ON PHYSIOLOGICAL RESPONSES OF PHULE TRIVENI CROSSBRED HEIFERS DURING SUMMER

ABSTRACT
The present investigation was undertaken during the month of April, 2004 by using 15 Phule
Triveni crossbred heifers maintained at Research-Cum-Development Project on Cattle, Rahuri. These
15 heifers were divided in to three groups on the basis of nearness of age and body weights. The
effects of method of body cooling ( tied under shed and flushed with water ) and time of observation ( at 12.00, 14.00 and 16.00 hrs.) were considered for recording the respiration rate, pulse rate and body temperature ) during summer season. The overall respiration rate, pulse rate and body temperature in Phule Triveni heifers was 34.713, 69.633 and 101.2290C.
