A study on the current situation of Sarus crane in Faridpur tehsil of Bareilly District of Uttar Praedesh

ABSTRACT
This study was done in the Faridpur Tehsil of Bareilly District of Uttar Pradesh during 2017 to know the actual situation including the current GPS readings of the Sarus crane. Under this, 14 villages of Faridpur Tehsil were found to have 80 sarus crane in which 9 breeding pairs were involved of the 9 nests, two-two eggs were presented in 7 nests. In this Tehsil, bird was found to be prectcing and making nests in wetlands, agricultural lands, ponds and near the rivers. There is a need to conduct scientific studies and awarness campaigns about the Sarus crane protection in this matter.
