Abstract

The present investigation was conducted in the field of Horticulture nursery, College of Agriculture, Gwalior during the year 2009-10. The experiment was aimed to find out economic dose of organic, inorganic and bio-fertilizers on growth and seed yield of okra with eight treatment combinations laid in Randomized Block Design and replicated three times. Observations were recorded in respect of growth parameters and yield parameters. Maximum (plant height (118.17cm), number of leaves (36.6), number of internodes (16.9) recorded in treatment T5. Maximum stem diameter (19.27mm) was recorded in treatment T2. Maximum number of branches (3.28) was recorded in T8. Germination percentage (88.37%) was in T5 and minimum (84.87%) was in T7. Crop maturity parameters like minimum days required  for flower bud initiation (34.47 days) and days for fruit initiation (37.33 days) was recorded in treatment T1 and minimum days for fruit maturity (87.27 days) was recorded in treatment T5 and maximum days (89.37) for fruit maturity was recorded in T2. Yield parameters like maximum dry fruits per plant (17.73), highest yield of seed (9.7q/ha), maximum length of dry fruits (16.93 cm), maximum diameter of dry fruits (16.83mm), maximum weight of 1000 seed (26.63 g) and maximum weight of seed/plant (77.84 g) was recorded in treatment T5. Maximum percentage of graded seed (97.85 %) was recorded in treatment T8 and minimum was in treatment T2.
