Post Bag No. 2491, !-tA. Farm Post, Senary Road, Bangaloni - .560024, India
ABSTRACT
The stem borer, Chilo pertellus (Swinhoe) (Lepidoptera: Pyralidae) is native of Indian subcontinent. The loss primarily due to C. partellus, the main constraint in cultivation of maize, during kharif season at a conservative estimate comes to about Rs. 110.5 crore annually. Present communication deals with review of the work done and advances made on bio-ecology arid bio-intensive management of the borer.
